Since 2012 CVMC has collaborated with the Cherry Valley Village for a spot in the yearly CV Parade. Each year the CVMC purchases frisbees for all the kids and grown-ups alike to share in the parade fun. If you’d like to see our colorful frisbees from parades past please visit the Cherry Valley Historical Society and or CV Public Library.

In 2023 and 2024 the CVMC collaborated with the Rockford Park District and Newburg Village for our first ever RPD Junior Golf Series Event.

CVMC and the Lucky Dog worked with Valley Orchard (in CV) and the Cherry Valley School to arrange a family time at the orchard. Each kid received a bag, donut, and an old fashioned hay ride. They were able to fill their bags with apples and baby pumpkins as take home treats. Great fun was had by all!

CVMC in coordination with the Cherry Valley Village Board supports local event such as the Shred & Canned Food Drive. All that and get donuts and warm apple cider (or maybe a cup of coffee). This year we gave out 12 dozen donuts and received 722 lbs of canned foods for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Every year CVMC works with Franchesco’s to hold a Christmas luncheon for the Special Olympics. Larry Young (Major League Baseball’s Umpire Supervisor) comes out to play Santa. It’s a joyous time of gift giving and love with the Olympians.

The spring 2024 Youth Fishing Tournament was held on Saturday June 15,2024 sponsored by the CVMC and Cherry Valley Recreation Board.  The weather cooperated with a nice morning, greeting 19 kids.

A second Junior Kids Fishing Tournament was held on Saturday October 5th. Mike Mungor directed with help from Bob Benka, Dave White, Rod Laisure, Zach Smith, and help from our CV rec board. The DNR was also supportive of the event providing cuzies and booklets of the Illinois state parts. 18 kids participated in event II for prizes in casting and fish (type and size) caught.
